Job DescriptionThis position includes a $1500 retention bonus for external new hires. You will receive a portion after 3 months of employment and the remainder after 12 months of employment.This position can be based in any of the cities in the NE Region, including: Maspeth, NY; Norwood, MA; Columbia, MD; Falmouth, ME; Chantilly, VA; Totowa, NJ; Albany, NY; Syracuse, NY; Amherst, NY; Wallingford, CT; Richmond, VA Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, The Pharmacy Compound Technician Regional performs all of the duties as Pharmacy Compound Technician I II, and III, including: preparation and packaging of medication and supplies for shipment to patients, performing record keeping functions, assisting in various inventory control processes, and workflow/inventory management. Additionally, The Pharmacy Compound Tech Regional is responsible for higher level leadership responsibilities including: assisting in following up on escalated issues assigned by leadership, assisting in directing tech team and workflow, and training/mentoring new employees and the tech teams as needed. This position requires traveling approximately 4 to 5 days per week to the pharmacies throughout the region.Required QualificationsActive state Pharmacy Technician license requiredDemonstrated written and verbal communication skillsCertification:ï‚ National Pharmacy Technician Certification.Adherence to:- Regular Predictable AttendanceAdvanced Knowledge of:- Medical Terminology utilized in a pharmacy- Drug names and pharmacology knowledge- Understanding of Pharmacy law- USP 797 Sterile Compounding Rules/Regulations- USP 800 Hazardous Compounding Rules/Regulations (if applicable)Skills In:- Demonstrated Verbal and written communication- Basic Math and Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)- Preparation and compounding of all sterile products- Proper documentation of inventory management, compound logs, and clean room testing- Soft skills in a supervisory related role- Knowledge of various drug delivery systems (elastomeric infusors, cassettes, bags for gravity infusion, etc)Ability To:- Multi-task in a fast-paced environment- Work Independently and within the clinical team to fill and ship accurate and timely orders- Effectively train and mentor new and existing tech team members- Troubleshoot and escalate issues to leadership in a timely manner- Travel within and out of state 4 to 5 days per weekPhysical Demands:The physical demands listed below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
