Job DescriptionPrimarily responsible for gathering, compiling, validating and analyzing data related to the health and wellness programs of the company. The data is then used to understand the current trends in the health care system and to make well-informed decisions. The Healthcare Data Analyst is passionate about numbers, analytics and sorting through data to find the hidden story. The successful candidate understands that strong data drives business decisions and ensures data integrity through a keen attention to detail and business acumen. This position extracts, analyzes and interprets health utilization and financial data from multiple sources, including payer claims data and clinical data.This position will be on-site at the Brandenton, FL office. Schedule will be M-F, 9 - 5 standard working hours. Primary Responsibilities: Develop, collect, analyze, metrics and data to formulate fact-based decisions and assist in proactively implementing process improvements through the prospective and/or retrospective analysis of claim data as well as data collected from internal wellness programs. Manipulate data to provide meaningful insights. Interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining and visual representation. Identify and explore cost drivers. Transform raw data collected through our internal systems into actionable information. Work with program leaders to understand their information needs and help them develop an approach for their own analysis and a method to explore their data. Audit data generated by operations teams. Generate standard or custom reports summarizing business, financial or clinical data for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders. Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested. Managing multiple projects and deadlines. Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications Experience with data reporting and visualization software Familiarity with healthcare data warehouses and comfortable generating reports. Excellent critical thinking skills. Leadership skills. Highly organized, detail and outcome oriented. Ability to work independently and within a team. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (see below). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A wide degree of energy, creativity and latitude is expected. MS Access experience (must be able to create and manipulate queries), SQL experience a plus. Business writing experience (must be able to articulate analytical findings in memos, emails, and reports). Clear understanding of the impact "big data" has on managing chronic medical conditions. Project-oriented self-starter with strong technical skills, good attention to detail, and experience with data mining, interpreting results, and data analysis. Familiarity with PowerBI. Healthcare industry experience (ex: working with HIPPA compliant data).
