The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs’ corporate strategy, as well as in preserving the firm’s distinctive culture. We are responsible for safeguarding the firm’s relationship with alumni, clients, shareholders, policy makers, and the broader public, while ensuring our own people remain informed about the firm’s evolving priorities. We also partner with the businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firm’s social and sustainability agendas.Team: The Culture, Speaker and Conference Strategy team partners with stakeholders across the firm to cultivate the culture of Goldman Sachs, and support the firm’s strategic approach to speaker engagement and global conferences and events. Role Summary: This role will support the sourcing, vetting, procurement and reporting of external and internal speakers for Goldman Sachs-sponsored conferences, external engagements as well as internal events. The role is best filled by a proactive generalist with strong project management and writing skills who can multi-task and drive long-term projects forward while pitching in with ad hoc events (e.g., partner meetings, alumni events, etc.) as they arise. Responsibilities include: Conferences and EventsProvide organizational support in the sourcing, vetting and procurement of external speakers for firm conferences and events. Schedule planning calls for internal working groupsResearch potential speakersConfirm speaker and moderator availability for thought leadership events and conferencesWork with Events team and coordinate calls to ensure speakers and moderators are prepared to participateCreate speaker briefing documents (when not being handled by the business teams / Events) and liaise with appropriate parties to review and distributeAssist with facilitating execution of speaker agreements and collection of supporting documents to ensure timely payment Develop, maintain and deliver reporting and communicationsCreate reporting docs for regular distribution that delineate strategy and tactical plansCreate, manage and distribute various communications that engage other teams’ efforts and amplify conference and speaker efforts (BCS notes, upkeep of conference folders, conference summary trackers, speaker trackers, etc.)Support the firm’s efforts to develop, distribute and amplify content related to Goldman Sachs conferences and events across the firm’s channels, including, but not limited to:Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Instagram)GSWebcomInternal content development:Work with the Corporate Communications, Global Marketing and divisional teams to schedule and draft appropriate multi-channel communicationsGoldman Sachs Speakers BureauSupport the launch and roll-out of the firm’s upcoming GS Speakers Bureau, which will identify and equip senior-level internal experts to give voice to the firm’s thought leadership across our core areasPrepare strategy and support documents for internal stakeholdersUpdate internal tracking systems, and create and distribute reporting documents as neededProvide support for activities related to the Speaker Engagement System (SES), a centralized database that will facilitate the request, approval and tracking of all external speakers globally for the firm’s events, as well as requests for GS employees speaking at internal and external events. External Speaker UtilizationAssist in managing the firm’s External Speaker Utilization initiative, which effectively and efficiently leverages external speakers through various events and opportunities throughout the firm. Ongoing / day-to-day responsibilities include:Liaise with Events and divisional teams to secure or confirm space for additional speaker events (targeted roundtables, lunch, etc.)Facilitate communication with various internal stakeholders about potential external speaker opportunitiesCreate content / themes for additional speaker eventsCollect final event and attendee details for reporting purposesRequired Skills and ExperienceBasic QualificationsExperience establishing and managing processes and communicationsResults-oriented, self-directed with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple time-sensitive projects and function as part of a cohesive teamAdvanced skills in using PowerPoint to create compelling, visually engaging materials is required, as well as skill with Excel Ability to efficiently conduct in-depth research on a wide array of issuesDemonstrates good judgment and discretionExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbalFlexibility to work across various projects and with different stakeholders globallyBachelor's degree and minimum of two years related work or communications experienceABOUT GOLDMAN SACHSAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
