Our ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn, be passionate about building high-scale highly available systems, and have a strong sense of personal responsibility and teamwork. This is a great opportunity for an engineer hungry to learn everything they can about Cards and drive their career to the next level.Basic Qualifications3+ years of experience working on cloud infrastructure systems and automation. You’ve likely been called a Cloud Architect, Cloud Infra, or Cloud Platform Engineer before.Experience with common patterns for app, infrastructure management, and at least some container technologies. This would be systems such as EC2, ELB, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.Significant cloud computing experience (AWS preferred), both migrations and native implementationFamiliarity with common programming languages, automation frameworks, and DevOps tools. Python, Go, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, or similar preferred.Deep understanding of modern systems design, performance and scale using Iac techniques using terraformPassionate about monitoring, observability, and sustainable infrastructure. When you’re on call you want to be able to figure out what’s wrong quickly and when you can’t you go back and add dashboards or new monitors. Good communication, documentation, and people skills. You should be able to explain clearly what problems you’ve been working on and share that knowledge with the rest of the team to help all of us learn together.Additional responsibilities & expectations include:Participate in various technical and architectural discussions both within the team and across the organization.Drive technical teams towards an “Automate Everything” approach to systems management and DevOps Engineering practices.Contribute to the modernizations and innovations of a Marcus Card domainServe as a technical subject matter expert to Product Engineering/DevOps teams.Build prototypes to validate architecture approachesProvide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams with respect to efficient integration of cloud native technology.Ability to stay focused and calm in a fast-paced environment.Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the overall product and the success of the business, not just the infrastructure under your direct control.ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHSAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
