Engaging with both Goldman Sachs’ proprietary direct-investing programs and external managers’ open-architecture strategies, the ACMS Group centrally manages capital raising for all alternatives products and portfolio solutions for all institutional investors in alternatives, across private equity, credit, real estate, infrastructure, growth equity, secondaries, GP stakes, impact investing, and absolute-return strategies. The Hedging Associate is responsible for helping formulate and implement a foreign exchange strategy across all AMD Private investing strategies. This includes responsibility for hedging across the AMD Private funds and GS balance sheet, as well as working with investors in our managed account strategies to understand, develop and implement a hedging program that meets their needs across various deals. This position also involves working with deal teams across all products managed by AMD Private (corporate, real estate and infrastructure) to understand the FX risk associated with each transaction and to formulate a recommended hedging strategy. The position will require deep understanding of FX hedging, AMD Private investments and the ability to communicate the FX strategy to managed account investors.ResponsibilitiesAsset Management is looking for a highly motivated Associate with a strong background in foreign exchange risk management / advisory to be an integral part of the team in New York. Examples of responsibilities include:Assist in developing and implementing an FX hedging program across investing strategies (e.g., funds, managed accounts, single asset funds)Assist with ongoing FX hedging of new and existing fund investment strategies (corporate equity, real estate, infrastructure, and credit)Contribute to the formulation of a view on individual currencies and associated hedging recommendationsWork with deal teams across AMD in Asia, Europe and the Americas to understand the FX risk associated with individual deals and develop hedging strategies on a per deal basisHelp to develop and maintain relationships with derivatives counterpartiesAssist with the execution and maintenance of FX hedgesThe position is a unique opportunity to contribute to the overall approach to and management of FX risk across AMD globally.QualificationsIn selecting candidates, we look for individuals who have a commitment to excellence and teamwork and possess a track record of good judgment and strong communication skills.
