The Adjunct Instructor works with the Program Chair and Lead Course Instructor to teach program courses. The Adjunct Instructor is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion and advises and supervises master’s degree candidates, actively participates in faculty collaborative learning, and demonstrates scholarly productivity. Teach graduate course sections (on campus and online) in one or more of the following areasMiddle school and high school mathematics methods coursesCurriculum and assessment in mathematics courses in grades 7-12Mathematics content instructionCourses are pre-designed in a standard format. Participation in an Adjunct/Full Time Instructors’ Online Learning Community is expected.May supervise candidates during clinical practice.Support program advisement for candidates.Uphold the missions and values of Touro College and the GSE.Master’s Degree required, earned doctorate preferred in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related fieldCurrent certification in Teaching Mathematics in grade 7-12Successful classroom teaching experience, Grades 7-12, of diverse studentsSuccessful graduate-level teaching experience, face-to-face and/or onlineSuccessful leadership experienceExperience in course and program designSuccessful experience supervising degree candidates in clinical field placements, if assigned for clinical supervisionCommitment to culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogyKnowledge of NYSED teacher certification examinationsSkillsExcellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skillsComputer SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, OutlookProficiency in online learning platforms including Canvas and ZoomTravelOccasional travel to Program Meetings at Touro College locations.
