What systems and data help your mutual fund manager make good investment decisions?As a Java developer in the Investment management division you will design and develop complex financial systems to calculate the value of ~3 million financial calculations every night and calculate the profit & loss of those securities in over 100,000 accounts and funds. The critical data created by your systems will be used by portfolio managers, investors, and regulators every day to make financial business decisions.HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIALYou will use your engineering and problem solving skills to build highly scalable, robust systems using Java, Web/RESTful service, JavaScript/react, Spring Batch, and SQL.To be successful you will need to learn and diagram the processes of the financial experts you support, build a vision of how to enhance and improve their processes, design and build software to implement your vision, and support the systems you create.It’s not just the project it’s the people, you will work with a dynamic and passionate team of developers in the iterative process of designing, engineering, supporting, and refining systems/data feeds used to value hundreds of thousands of financial assets (Stocks, bonds, etc.) every day.You will meet directly with financial experts who will be using your products every day. Through your interactions you will learn how the financial markets work and how the value/price/performance of a financial asset/account are set. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FORBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related technical disciplineExpertise in Java Spring & Relational DatabasesExperience in software development, including a clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design and core programming conceptsComfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a teamExcellent communication skills including experience speaking to technical and business audiences and working globallyPreferred QualificationsStrong programming experience in at least one object oriented programming language (e.g. C++, C#, Java)In-depth knowledge of relational and columnar SQL databases, including database designExperience with continuous delivery and deployment iv.
