Olympic Sports and Spine (OSS) is looking for experienced Insurance Eligibility Specialist. This position is responsible for the verification of insurance eligibility and benefits for all new patients for all of OSS location's new patients done within a centralized location. Performs other daily operating functions associated with the eligibility specialist position. We want a candidate that excels working in a fast-paced medical billing office and wants to work for a company that is committed to providing quality customer service and care to our patients and being a great employer to our employees and wants a job with no weekends required (Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm.).JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Verify eligibility and insurance benefits for all of OSS's new patient cases prior to the initial visit.Communicate with clinic PSR staff and/or clinic treating staff about any paperwork required to obtain insurance and follow up to ensure the necessary paperwork was completed.Performs regular follow-up calls with the insurance company to establish prior authorization.Data entry of all insurance benefit information into the EMR system.Confirm that all patient registration and demographic information is accurate and correct.Contact patients directly to obtain any additional information when necessary.Complete patient insurance benefit letters in the EMR system to be printed by clinic PSR staff and given to patients at the initial visit.Ensure that all verifications and prior authorizations are complete for the next day's patients before the end of each day.Documents detailed notes in the EMR system of all communication with insurance companies, patients, clinic staff, and billing staff.PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge of insurances and the verificationKnowledge of computerKnowledge of business officeAbility to operate a computer, scanner, fax/copy and basic officeAbility to operate a multi-line telephoneSkill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpfulAbility to effectively communicate in oral and written format with patients, staff, insurers and referralAbility to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and theMust be well organized, detail-oriented and be able to prioritize.Education/Experience: Minimum High School graduation or equivalent AND three years of experience in an appropriately related position OR Equivalent education/experience.BENEFITS: you are looking for a great workplace, look no further!Equal Opportunity StatementWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
