We are currently sourcing for a Mainframe Programmer/Analyst to work in Fidelity's Core Brokerage Platform Technology Group in Merrimack NH or Jersey City NJ.The RoleThe Brokerage Settlements area in R4 is part of the Core Brokerage Platform Domain. The R4 area is responsible for supporting the production environment for critically important products and applications. The R4 area is responsible for supporting mainframe, distributed and Cloud technologies for processing applications. The team supports all lines of business across Retail and Institutional businesses. The Senior software developer for the R4 team will be responsible for driving and supporting implementation of applications and framework using mainframe technologies.This technology group provides outstanding development and maintenance support to the overall Fidelity Institutional organization, in vital core subsystems that provide settlements information as well as trusted customer information, distributed throughout the organization.TeamThe Core Brokerage Platform Technology - Mutual Funds team designs, builds, and maintains systems for the Fidelity Brokerage platform, back-office processing, and Institutional front-end solutions. We work closely with our business and systems partners to deliver technology solutions to the complex needs of our customers. We have interesting and challenging problems to solve and prioritize working collaboratively in a friendly environment.The Expertise You Have10+ years of experience as a day-to-day Mainframe Developer working with COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, MQ, etc.Demonstrated Experience with mainframe performance tuning and capacity planning, including ways to reduce I/O, CPU Time, and MIPsDemonstrated Experience writing COBOL/Native stored proceduresGood understanding and usage of mainframe toolsExperience in the development and deployment of both Batch and Online transaction processing applicationsExperience in the Investment and financial Industry would be a plusExposure to Distributed Technologies (Nice to have/Willing to learn)Participation in on-call support rotation requiredWorking experience in agile development environmentThe skills that are good to have for this roleAbility to plan and work with geographically spread-out teamsProven communication skillsPassion for Stability and Resilience of the platform.The Value You DeliverDesigning and maintaining architecture solutions on a platform dedicated to high scale processing of large amounts of data.Working with Operations to plan major infrastructure upgrades, to solve issues and to tune the environment for efficient performance and uptimeCollaborating with peers and management on process improvement ideas, policy and procedure enhancements, and opportunities to improve our customer's service experience.Participating in code review and unit testing and providing support on issues in non-prod or productionCommunicating and reinforcing technical standardsAssessing and researching current implementations of the platform and determining the course of action required to elevate the platform to meet customer needs.Please see the below pay rate range for the work location of Jersey City only: $65.00-80.00 per hour.Dynamic WorkingFidelity's hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences.
