Title: Associate Director of FinanceStatus: Exempt, Full-time, 40 hours per weekSupervisor: Vice President for FinanceSalary: $80,000 - $87,500 annualSchedule: Monday-Friday, Hybrid ScheduleFunction:The Associate Director of Finance works as part of FSI's leadership team supporting everyone's right to thrive. In this role you will manage the fiscal activities of the agency effectively and efficiently in accordance with organization policies and procedures and in accordance to generally accepted accounting principles. Supervises staff and provides professional leadership and direction and assists management with the financial responsibilities of the organization in fulfilling the mission. Promoting social and economic equity and fairness.Quality - Aspiring for excellence in every aspect of our work.Job Responsibilities:Grant/Contract Management & ComplianceAdminister required records, reports, and data for programs and ensuring that all certifications, reimbursements, and funding requirements are fulfilled in a timely, accurate mannerOversee organization's compliance with various governmental reporting requirementsDevelop and maintain relationships with funder contacts as it relates to fiscal dutiesFacilitate governmental and other funding source auditsAssist in developing and maintaining the organization-wide cost allocation plan, integrating organization budget and restricted and/or unrestricted fundingMonitor program budget modification process integrating program directorsProvide forecasting of fiscal outcomes to manage contracts and grants in collaboration with program leadershipMeet with management to review contract compliance and financial positionReview and approve reports generated by Grant Administrators and staff for submission to appropriate partyDevelop grant/contract budgets for renewals and new opportunitiesAssist VP for Finance in the agency budget development processAccountingProvides administrative oversight for the accounting records and ensures that programs and staff are fulfilling the organization mission in accordance with organization policies and GAAPFacilitate annual independent auditDirect and coordinate operational procedures for accounting and payroll functionsManage the month-end closing processes and related deliverables among the Finance Team, particularly Staff Accountants, AP/AR specialists and related staffReview & approve monthly bank reconciliations for all agency accountsMaintain timely collection of accounts receivableCash management including approval of disbursements and assessing line of credit needsManage general ledger (G/L) and spreadsheet analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, and accounts receivable/payable monitoring and analysisMaintain corporate documents and ensure compliance with various reporting requirements of Federal and State agenciesIdentify, develop, and implement streamlined accounting and financial processes as agency operations changeSupervisionDirectly supervise assigned staffFacilitate staff development and assure staff is appropriately trained to meet organizational requirements and all regulationsProvide leadership to organization staff by example, by knowledge and practice of professional skills, relationship-building and standardsAssure appropriate staffing by recruiting, interviewing, and recommending candidates for positions in accountingComplete staff performance appraisals in a timely manner and address disciplinary issues through organization performance improvement processGeneralFacilitate communication between Finance, other departments, and program staffParticipates in organization-wide and organization-appointed committees to facilitate organization program initiatives and services to the communityResponds supportively to changes in programs and policies and taking a broad view of one's position by assuming additional responsibilities when the need arisesAttend conferences, both in person and virtual, to ensure agency is knowledgeable of industry trends and issuesSkills and Abilities:Technology proficiency (Windows, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook, Microsoft Project preferred)Strong understanding of information technology requiredExercise high ethical standards and professionalismExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsFlexible and adaptableEffective ambassador of changeStrong organization and multitasking abilitiesCollaborative relationship developmentTime managementProcedure/policy developmentPublic speakingBusiness and finance acumenMust be able to travel between sites in all three counties#INDADWork Environment: Finance Department Office at the Family Partnership Center, 29 North Hamilton St Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 -
