We are seeking a local candidate for this role!This position is part time with varied hours between 5:00am and 10:00pm Monday-Friday with weekend availability.We are seeking a part time Armed Security Officer who is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees and the protection of our property by patrolling the premises and actively monitoring personnel. The Armed Security Officer is also responsible for guarding against theft and adheres strict security protocols to prevent the unauthorized removal of property. The Armed Security Officer must be of High-Integrity and Ethical Behavior, as we are entrusted with the duty of protecting people and hi-value property. You must be able to maintain confidentiality, protect privacy, and conform to professional codes of conduct as you can be exposed to sensitive matters and information.The day in the life of an Armed Security Officer...Monitor, screen and authorizes the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other people in multiple locationsGuard against theft of company property while maintaining security of premisesPrevent losses and damages by reporting irregularities, instruct violators of policy and proceduresCalls police, fire or EMS in cases of emergency; as needed as appropriate for emergencies (ex: trespasser, fire or injured person)Answers alarms and investigate disturbances or eventsPatrols and monitors the premises to prevent and detect signs of unauthorized intrusion, theft or damage to or of company propertyOperate detection devices, such as metal detectors and X ray machines to screen individuals and property to prevent the passage of prohibited articles into and out of restricted areasAlways follow company and security policies and proceduresAdhere to company attendance policy and maintain adequate attendance per department standardsMust conduct themselves in a professional manner, friendly, positive and supportive manner at all timesPerforms other security related duties as assignedOther Qualities of an Armed Security Officer:Decision Making/Judgment:Promptly recognize problems and react with appropriate response in accordance with laws, regulations and company policiesSystematically gather all information for assessment to identify root causesSort through complex issues, seeks input from others for evaluationAbility to make difficult decisions based upon factual consensus, and articulate decision made to management and others.Dependability:Demonstrates commitment to supporting security operations with fluctuating operational schedule changes, works well independently, accepts accountability, manages a fast-paced work environment, sets exemplary standards, stays calm and focused under pressure, and meets attendance/punctuality expectations.Initiative:Tackles problems and takes independent action within policies, seeks out new responsibilities, acts on opportunities, generates new ideas and practices self-development.Listening Skills:Listens attentively to others, asks clarifying questions, stays open to other viewpoints and manages distractions and interruptions.Work Environment/Safety:Projects professionalism, well groomed, works well in a team environment, and considerate of workplace surroundings, maintain workplace area clean, reports any safety or equipment issues and supports safety programs.APMEX is a multibillion-dollar ecommerce company that is the leader in Precious Metals. Join the team today!Education:High School diploma requiredExperience:5+ years experience in law enforcement, or5+ years served in active-duty military (honorably discharged), or7+ years in a security field.Detailed observation skills and quick response in making corrective action within protocols.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Strong comprehensive report writing and analytical skills.Fluctuating schedule readiness, as needed.Certificates & Licenses:Active or retired state certified Peace Officer statusMust possess valid C.L.E.E.T.
