*Elevate Accuracy as a *Patent Docketing Quality & Compliance SpecialistJoin a dynamic intellectual property team where precision and expertise drive success. As a Patent Docketing Quality & Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in *ensuring data integrity, compliance, and accuracy* within the firm's *patent docketing database*. This role offers the opportunity to *train new team members, conduct internal audits, and serve as a key resource for docketing-related inquiries*.This position is available in any of our *Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., or San Francisco* offices.*What You'll Do**Quality Review & Data Integrity** *Docket Accuracy*: Review all *U.S. and foreign patent docket updates*, ensuring strict compliance with *country laws, client guidelines, and firm policies*.* *Error Identification & Resolution*: Correct database inaccuracies or provide detailed feedback to *Docketing Specialists* to enhance team knowledge.* *Audit Reviews*: Conduct internal *audit reviews of client patent portfolios*, identifying and resolving inconsistencies in the docketing system.* *Data Validation*: Regularly assess and verify *docketing entries, deadlines, and procedural compliance* to maintain the highest level of accuracy.*Training & Department Support** *New Hire Training*: Assist in the *training and onboarding of new Docketing Specialists*, ensuring adherence to best practices and firm procedures.* *Ongoing Staff Development*: Provide *ongoing training and mentorship* based on individual and department needs.* *Process Improvement*: Collaborate with the *IP Patent Docketing Manager and Coordinator* to identify and implement *enhancements to policies, procedures, and workflows*.* *Resource Support*: Serve as a key *point of contact* for *docketing inquiries*, assisting firm attorneys, paralegals, and staff with docketing-related matters.*Systems & Reporting** *Database Management*: Maintain and update the *docketing system*, ensuring compliance with firm and client requirements.* *Custom Reports & Queries*: Generate system reports and *customized queries* as needed.* *Deadline Oversight*: Prepare and send *final docket reports* to attorneys and staff to ensure *timely completion of critical deadlines*.* *Special Projects*: Assist with *new matter intakes* and other docketing-related projects as assigned.*What You Bring**Skills That Set You Apart** *Expert Knowledge*: Deep understanding of *U.S. and foreign patent prosecution procedures, terminology, and deadlines*.* *Strong Analytical Skills*: Ability to *identify errors, solve problems, and provide strategic docketing solutions*.* *Exceptional Attention to Detail*: Precise *data entry and proofreading skills* to maintain compliance and avoid costly errors.* *Proactive & Organized*: Ability to *prioritize tasks, meet strict deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities* in a fast-paced environment.* *Effective Communicator*: Excellent *verbal and written communication skills*, with the ability to train and mentor colleagues.* *Tech-Savvy*: Familiarity with *patent docketing software* (CPI, Patricia preferred) and proficiency in *Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)*.*Education & Experience** *Education*: *Bachelor's degree preferred*; relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.* *Experience*: *Minimum 5 years of patent docketing experience* using a computerized docketing system.* *At least 1 year of quality review experience* in patent docketing.* *Prior law firm experience required*.* *Flexibility for overtime* may be required based on workflow demands.This position is ideal for a *detail-oriented professional with a strong background in patent docketing and quality control*, seeking an opportunity to *contribute expertise, mentor colleagues, and enhance accuracy* in a high-performing intellectual property team.Job Type: Full-timePay: $90,000.00 - $109,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceSchedule:* Monday to FridayEducation:* Bachelor's (Preferred)Experience:* patent docketing: 5 years (Preferred)* CPI and/or Patricia: 5 years (Preferred)* patent docketing quality review: 1 year (Preferred)Ability to Commute:* Washington, DC 20009 (Required)Work Location: In person
