Fire Protection EngineerThe Opportunity:As a Fire Protection Engineer, you'll serve as a subject matter expert on fire protection and life safety issues affecting government facilities. You'll review design and other technical documents for construction activities and operations to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. You'll identify optimal fire protection solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. You'll conduct inspections of construction to validate compliance of fire protection and life safety aspects.What You'll Work On:Review planning, programming, architectural, and engineering design documents and other technical documents for proposed construction activities.Review and conduct comprehensive fire safety audits, inspections, and investigations of company operations to ensure compliance with fire protections codes and standards.Conduct inspections of new construction and renovations to validate compliance of fire protection and life safety aspects.Witness acceptance testing and commissioning of fire protection systems and equipment to validate functional compliance.Assist with corporate fire protection governance and policy, standard operating procedures, and facility design standards.Attend professional meetings within the government to benchmark how industry and other government agencies are addressing similar issues.Prepare internal briefings, fact sheets, newsletter articles, and other communications of fire protection and life safety topics and support data collection and metrics development.Contribute to the company records and knowledge management activities.Join us. The world can't wait.You Have:5+ years of experience with life safetyExperience in the fire protection fieldAbility to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraphBachelor's degree in Fire Protection EngineeringNice If You Have:Experience in the fire protection aspects of facility design, construction, and commissioning, including egress, passive fire protection, fire alarm, and fire suppression systemsExperience with the Unified Facilities Criteria, the International Building Code, and the NFPA Codes and Standards, including NFPA 1, 13, 70, 72, 75, and 10Experience in architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering disciplines to evaluate and critique coordinated integration of fire protection concepts into large facilities projectsAbility to travel to domestic and foreign locationsPossession of excellent customer service skillsPossession of excellent verbal and written communication skillsGraduate of a Fire Protection Engineering (ABET-EAC) ProgramCompletion of the fire protection engineering written examination administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES)Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
