Packaging Engineer - Process Improvement and Acceleration TeamLocation: Concord, NC (on-site with travel to Raleigh, Cincinnati, NJ, Boston, and Indianapolis as needed)Long-term ContractPosition Overview:Brooksource Engineering Services is seeking two skilled Packaging Engineers to join a multi-functional Process Improvement and Acceleration Team for line and asset start-up and process improvement projects at our pharmaceutical manufacturing partner site in Concord, North Carolina. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in the design, commissioning, and qualification of packaging lines and devices, ensuring efficient start-up operations and continuous process improvements.This role requires hands-on engineering, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and travel to other project sites (Raleigh, Cincinnati, NJ, Boston, and Indianapolis) as project needs arise.Core Responsibilities:* Lead and support commissioning and qualification activities to ensure all packaging line equipment and processes meet regulatory and operational requirements.* Collaborate with the Process Improvement and Acceleration Team to design, install, and test packaging line equipment, including integrating Delta-V PCS and Allen Bradley PLCs for process control and automation.* Execute validation protocols for packaging processes, ensuring regulatory compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adherence to industry standards for pharmaceutical devices.* Identify and implement opportunities for improving packaging line efficiency, quality, and safety, leveraging expertise in automation and packaging design.* Work closely with quality, validation, device engineering, and operations teams to deliver solutions aligned with project goals and timelines.* Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including SOPs, validation reports, and risk assessments, to support regulatory audits and inspections.* Be available for travel to additional project sites as required by the role to support new and ongoing projects.Core Skills and Experience:* Experience in Packaging or Device Start-Up: Demonstrated success in supporting start-up or ramp-up activities for packaging lines or device assembly in a regulated manufacturing environment.* Process Control Systems (Delta-V PCS): Proficiency in Delta-V PCS for process control and integration, including troubleshooting and configuring system components.* PLC Expertise (Allen Bradley): Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, including experience with programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing PLC-driven processes in packaging or device lines.* Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q): Experience in C&Q processes for packaging equipment and device lines, with a thorough understanding of operational readiness, testing protocols, and documentation.* Validation and Regulatory Compliance: Hands-on experience in process validation and a solid understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical packaging processes.* Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to identify root causes of packaging process issues and implement effective corrective actions and continuous improvements.Preferred Qualifications:* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Packaging, Chemical, or related field).* Certification in packaging engineering or related disciplines.* Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Device Operations and familiarity with equipment such as labelers, sealers, automated packaging systems, or auto injectors.* Strong Communication and Documentation Skills: Able to clearly communicate technical information, collaborate effectively across departments, and maintain accurate project documentation.Job Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $80.00 - $90.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shiftAbility to Commute:* Concord, NC 28027 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Concord, NC 28027: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
