We maintain a transparent, trustworthy, and malpractice-free hiring process for all our candidates.**Job Title:* RN - Crisis Intervention*Department:* COVID-19 Department of Homeless Services*Location:* New York, NY 10004*Schedule:** *Start Date:* 03/27/2025* *Hours per Week:* 35* *Days per Week:* 5* *Shift :* Nights*Duties and Responsibilities:*The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) operates a Homelessness Solutions Joint Command Center (JCC) that leverages precision mapping, client data, and rapid response to address homelessness in NYC.As part of this initiative, Crisis Intervention Nurses will:* Engage individuals experiencing homelessness on city streets, subways, and parks to conduct medical, mental health, and safety assessments.* Foster trust and encourage individuals to seek shelter by partnering with DHS Crisis Coordinators, outreach teams, and other city agency partners.* Collaborate with outreach teams and law enforcement to ensure the safe and appropriate transport of individuals in crisis to Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (C.P.E.P.) locations.* Evaluate individuals for mental health conditions, including homicidal or violent behaviors, that may pose risks to themselves or others.* Maintain comprehensive and timely records of assessments, interventions, and follow-ups.* Work closely with hospital staff and clinicians to ensure appropriate care and discharge planning.* Obtain necessary approvals to operate as part of a mobile crisis outreach team.*Skills and Qualifications:** Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.* Education in mental and behavioral health is highly desirable.*Additional Requirements:** RN License* AHA - BLS* *COVID-19 Vaccines*Job Type: ContractPay: $2,700.00 - $2,900.00 per weekMedical Specialty:* PsychiatryApplication Question(s):* Valid Email for further communication* Best time to speakExperience:* Homeless Department: 1 year (Required)* Crisis intervention: 1 year (Required)License/Certification:* BLS AHA (Required)* RN LIcense (Required)Work Location: In personJob Types: Travel nursing, ContractPay: $2,700.00 - $2,900.00 per weekMedical Specialty:* PsychiatryExperience:* mental & behavioral health: 2 years (Required)License/Certification:* BLS Certification (Required)* RN NY license (Required)Shift availability:* Night Shift (Preferred)Ability to Commute:* New York, NY 10004 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* New York, NY 10004: Relocate before starting work (Required)Willingness to travel:* 25% (Preferred)Work Location: In person
