Senior Accountant / Controller

Job Title: Senior Accountant / ControllerLocation: Phoenix, AZ 85034Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 + $5K - $10K Bonus (some flexibility based on experience)Employment Type: Full-time - Permanent role with BenefitsOverview: The Controller will supervise, monitor, and evaluate all day-to-day accounting activities by implementing and maintaining appropriate internal control systems and procedures for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial activity and information.Key Responsibilities:Perform hands-on management of the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and preparation of account reconciliations.Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and controls within the accounting process.Perform revenue recognition and cost accrual procedures.Manage monthly purchase orders and cost accruals.Ensure proper accumulation and transfer of inter-Store activity and costs.Review and file monthly sales tax filings.Prepare monthly financial statements and other reports including, but not limited to Flash Reports, Job Costing and Post-Job Analysis, Annual Budgets and quarterly Forecasts, Month-End Reports, Revenue comparisons, Inventory usage and frequency of use, Commissions, Overbooked reportsCoordinate annual financial audits and bank collateral review proceduresUse data from various systems to create a more proactive approach to sales, marketing, pricing, inventory, and labor analysisCreate tools and processes to improve and integrate systemsDevelop and implement performance metrics and benchmarking tools using data collection to establish appropriate goalsUse quantitative data to measure progress and create predictive modelsDevelop tools to help with forecastingPerform month-end variance analysisEssential Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5-7+ years of experience in accounting or financial management.Proficiency in QuickBooks, SageExperience with Point of Rental (POR) software is a plus.Advanced MS Excel skillsReady to take the next step in your career?
