Candidates should be able to come on-site on an as needed basis which will be determined by the business.Description:We're seeking a Applications Dev Architect to lead the enterprise application development team. This role manages all aspects of technical applications including operations, development, implementation, and maintenance.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides guidance during implementation, upgrades and critical support initiatives.Leads and directs the work of others, maintains an expert knowledge in new applications and technologies and assist with leveraging that knowledge to solve business problems.Work to enable and enhance Emory's application infrastructure for cloud technologies and integrations of web services across the organization.Maintaining documentation of application and technology interoperability along with standards for selection and deployment methodologies is a critical role for this position.Strong technical skills, personal initiative, sound judgment, and good problem solving are fundamental to this position.Working with IT management, develop long and short term strategies for technical application platforms. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Emory's application and infrastructure teams to ensure new application interoperability and support.Maintain an expert knowledge of technical application solutions and work with IT management to ensure appropriate deployment of new application and technologies to support IT and business goals.Participate in all functions of the technical review process, which include education, specification, and approval of new applications for compliance to standard requirements.Work with IT teams on maintaining technical application documentation and defining standards for all applications and required interoperability.Partner with teams on maintaining vendor questionnaires for new application compliance to Emory architecture standards.Collaborate with IT teams to establish and follow standard processes for evaluating new applications, developing selection criteria and establishing implementation guidelines driven by business requirements.Provide assistance to the technical operations teams during acquisition and implementation of end-to-end integrated applications, ensuring value-based acquisitions and stable and supportable implementations.Leads and conducts research in automation techniques to improve application performance, efficiency, and testing.Provides production support in a 7 X 24 Tier 1 environment and is responsible for support of all maintenance and support for critical business systems.Develop partnerships with executives, faculty, and staff on ongoing customer and service delivery programs.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.Eight years related Information Technology experience preferably in a healthcare or academic setting.Experience with application design, development and optimization from business requirements through day-to-day management.The ideal candidate will have a proven record of effectively communicating at all organizational levels, understanding the Institution's business, missions and goals, and translating those goals into information technology initiatives.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required; must have a high level of judgment, decision-making, discretion and integrity.Experience managing and working knowledge of a variety of platforms and of system deployment in a heterogeneous environment with a clear vision of how to use information technology to improve productivity, performance and delivery of service.Additional Details:Supporting a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.
