Salary Range: $60,000-90,000JOB SUMMARY:Messer Cutting Systems offers innovative software programs that effectively streamline processes. Our software solutions are the effective link between our customer's machine and commercial products. As the Application Support Engineer, you will provide technical and functional customer support of our various software applications through phone support and in-person & remote customer training.ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide remote, in-house, and on-site customer training and support on machine operation, process optimization, and CAD/CAM programming softwareDelivering remote, in-house, and on-site training to customers requires an average of 50% travel, with the potential for higher levels as neededCollaborate cross-functionally to develop new product lines prior to launchingManage enhancement and bug fix lists and test software after changes and upgradesDatabase development (Laser focused)Effectively communicate during extensive interaction with customersDevelop knowledge base articles and other training materialsConduct equipment, software demonstrations and presentations to prospective customersWork closely with other departments to ensure products are delivered on time and meet all customer requirementsParticipate in continuous improvement projects and proactively maintain collaborative relationships.Support a global network by effective communication skills across geographic, cultural, cross-functional, and organizational differencesAttend trade shows to represent the company and productsOther duties/responsibilities as directed by the managerAn individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.MINIMUM EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:Associate's Degree in related field preferred3 or more years of experience with laser cutting machinery preferredExperience cleaning and changing laser cutting headsDatabase/Parameter developmentAdvanced understanding of G&M codeADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS experience preferredKnowledge of CNC equipment preferredKnowledge of material handling systems preferredProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work collaboratively and independently, with good organizational skills and the flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple projects with exceptional attention to detailStrong communication and presentation skills requiredSelf-starter with determination for completing tasksA valid driver's license and reliable transportation is requiredPROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT:Steel-toe shoesEye protectionWORKING ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
