We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant responsible for accurate financial records through transaction tracking and recording. The role includes updating the ledger, preparing financial statements, reconciling bank statements, managing accounts payable/receivable, and adhering to accounting standards. Reporting to an Accounting Manager, the position involves daily tasks to provide a comprehensive view of the company's financial health.The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, along with proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. They should have excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The Staff Accountant will also be expected to help prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Additionally, the role requires effective communication skills to liaise with various departments and external stakeholders, including auditors, vendors, and customers. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred, along with relevant certification such as CPA or CMA. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the company's financial integrity and operational efficiency.Location: Confidential Tampa FL 33619Pay Scale: $55,000 to $65,000Shift: M-F 8:30am to 5:00pm, On-SitePosition: Full TimeJob Responsibilities:* Financial record keeping: Maintaining accurate financial records by recording transactions in the general ledger.* Financial reporting: Preparing and reviewing financial reports like balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.* Bank reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements to ensure accuracy of financial records.* Cash Forecast: Maintain daily cash forecast.* Accounts payable/receivable management: Processing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable balances.* Tax preparation: Assisting with tax return preparation and compliance.* Payroll processing: May be involved in verifying and processing payroll data.* Fixed asset accounting: Tracking and maintaining records of fixed assets* Audit assistance: Supporting internal and external audit processes.* Compliance with GAAP: Ensuring financial reporting adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.* ASC 842: Maintain building, equipment, and vehicle leases.* End of Month: Preparing accrual, adjusting journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.Qualifications:* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks* Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.* Ownership and pride in work products.* Bachelor's degree in accounting* 1-2 years' experience with general staff accounting.Skills:* Strong attention to detail* Technical Accounting* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills* Strong mathematical skills* Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with various levels of employees, effective communication.* Strong time management and organizational skills.* Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP, NetSuite ERP.* Stampli, Corpay experience are a plus.Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentThe work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
