We are a 4 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area.Job SummaryLeonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Quality Engineer I - Software Configuration Management for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This position is responsible for supporting Software quality during product development and implementation of improvements. They will also develop, maintain, and deploy Software Quality Plans and activities that translate customer requirements into planned activities. In addition, the Quality Engineer - SCM will maintain & support software baselines. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently.Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for Software quality system development and supporting product Software quality improvementsDevelop, maintain, and deploy Software quality plans & activities that translate customer requirements into planned activitiesPerform analyses of program requirements and prepares responsive Software quality plans, procedures, schedules, and resource allocations to assure optimum quality supportProvide ongoing Software quality system support to include participating in internal audits, ensuring implementation of peer reviews, adherence to Software Configuration Management processes, and root cause corrective actionsMaintain & support software baselinesReview technical documentation and specifications for completion and adherence to customer requirementsProvide input into the existing Software CM processes and provide updates as neededInstill best practice methods, procedures, and controlsMaintain and perform versioning and baseline controlPerform internal and/or external PCA and FCA of baselined and released codeAbility to work independently and to collaborate with junior engineers, technicians, and inspectorsReview and approve engineering/test and contractor documentation and provide input to assure that appropriate Software quality requirements are addressedLead Software product quality improvement teams and participates in Failure Review BoardsProvide technical support for Software Build & Compilation/Test/Inspection of completed executablesParticipate in resolving customer quality issues and driving root cause and corrective action on process and product quality issuesAssist in developing and deploying SPC initiativesJob Responsibilities Part IIAnalyze and execute projects independentlyCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer, as requiredLead and execute customer quality program requirementsDevelop and generate statistical reports on inspection activities and results, new product or process testing results, etc. and recommend action as requiredSupport, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organizationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical fieldExperience with Compilers, Software Build tools, C++, Java, Python, JenkinsExperience with Quality tools (Six Sigma tools, statistics)Experience with Omnify/Empower or other PLM ToolsTechnical expertise and application domain knowledgeExcellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skillsAbility to define problems and drive to root cause and effective corrective actionTaking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
