Job Summary Responsible for processing payroll and related payroll reporting, moderately complex accounts payable functions, and general ledger accounting functions. Provides general support of various accounting operations including, but not limited to general ledger account reconciliation and preparation of payroll-related productivity reports. Provides excellent customer service to employees and management as well as external contacts.Essential Functions• Enters invoice data, verifies extensions, and foots totals.• Maintains accounts payable files and records.• Processes and distributes checks in an efficient and timely manner.• Posts all electronic bank to bank payments to vendors via automatic clearinghouse (ACH) network.• Process new vendor requests including credit applications, vendor statements, and handles correspondence involving accounts payable.• Routes all invoices for coding and approval by department and maintains historical records for all accounts payable transactions.• Assists with monthly and year-end closeout procedures and records and assists auditors during the annual financial audit.• Reconciles and prepares transactions to ensure related amounts are properly recorded in the general ledger.• Maintains documentation of accounts payable and payroll processes and workflows.• Enters, corrects, verifies, and transmits payroll information in the payroll system.• Researches and resolves payroll system issues that may arise to meet payroll deadlines.• Processes bi-weekly payroll including deductions, taxes, incentive earnings, overtime, premium pay and paid time off.• Ensures payroll taxes and other deductions are remitted and all payroll related forms including Form 941s, Form 941Ns, W-2s and 1095Cs are filed in a timely and complete manner.• Maintains records with accrual information related to paid time off, basic time, employee accounts receivable, and all payroll-related files.• Assists with various payroll-related audits such as workman's compensation and pension.Qualifications• Education• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or or related field preferred.• Office, data entry, and customer service experience required.• Knowledge in compensation, payroll processing, and general accounting principles preferred.• Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.Competencies• Uphold strict confidentiality and financial security by following internal controls.• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.• Communicate effectively with others through written and oral communication.• Possess the ability to complete tasks while meeting deadlines.• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments.Why join Providence Medical Center?• Competitive compensation.• Complete benefits package.• Collaborative and supportive work environment.• Opportunities for advancing education, certifications, and training.Help us shape the future of PMC and contribute to our continued growth!• Mission: Providing Quality Healthcare in the Spirit of Christ.• Vision: Being the Hospital and Employer of Choice.• Values: Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect, Teamwork
