SUMMARYSunwest Bank's Operations Trainee Program is a formal 12-month program providing a unique opportunity for the individual to gain first-hand knowledge and comprehensive, hands-on experience rotating through a variety of departments and areas across the bank. Under supervision from the Director of Operations or assigned Operations Managers, Trainees will gain broad exposure to develop bench strength for future leadership or specialized positions within the bank. The trainee may be involved in complex projects or serve on committees while also focusing on developing important leadership and professional skills. Upon successful completion of the program, the individual will be ready to be in a technically skilled role in the Operations Division, and with further development a higher-level leadership role within 5-7 years. The position will be based in our operations center in Nampa, Idaho, with necessary travel to designated offices, trainings, meetings, etc., as required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWorks alongside Sunwest Bank team members to experience real-life business scenarios impacting our customers and bank and use knowledge developed to support the bank, while developing technical/professional skills.Observes policies and procedures to acquire a working knowledge of all aspects of the bank's operation and products and services, while performing assigned duties in department rotations and executing with the intent to meet or exceed expectations. Rotations will include all departments within the operations division and may also include but are not limited to targeted training related to Strategic Initiatives, Commercial Banking, Consumer/Retail Banking, Credit Risk Management, Human Resources, and Risk Management (including Audit, Compliance, and BSA/AML).Conducts special projects and assignments outside the scope of normal rotations, attending seminars, events, and various corporate engagements in support of the bank and/or employee professional development.Participates in and represents bank in service activities where you will establish connections, support our communities, and live the culture to change lives for the better.Organizes, leads, and champions various corporate efforts and initiatives designed to develop your leadership and managerial skills.Demonstrates understanding/competency by successfully passing assignments and tests at the conclusion of various program milestones.Communicates and reports on progress in program and provides feedback about program to Manager(s).Interacts directly and professionally with members of the bank's leadership team, vendors, and service providers, as well as customers/prospects.Performs special projects as designated by the Director of Operations.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESWorks afterhours and travels to various locations dependent upon the department rotation, work schedule, volunteer opportunity, or business need. When necessary, travel and hours worked may vary. Trainees are eligible for mileage reimbursement.Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers, and management.Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance, and appearance.Adheres to all Company Policies & Procedures and Safety Regulations.Adheres to local, state and federal laws.Attends training and maintains a basic knowledge of procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing financial institutions, as they apply to your position and job responsibilities, with an emphasis on the BSA/AML/CIP, Consumer Privacy, Regulation CC, Information Security, Bank Protection Act, FACT-Identity Theft, Information Technology and GLBA.Additional duties as assigned as it relates to the position.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position does not have supervisory responsibilitiesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree, or combination of education and experience. Minimum required experience = Two years' work experience in banking/financial services, customer service, or a business-related field (example - retail, call center, customer focused field, etc.).Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication, a curious growth mindset with a willingness to learn, a strong and professional personal brand, effective time management skills, willingness to receive coaching and feedback.Strong technical skills utilizing Microsoft Office including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as webcam/video.Ability to work independently or on a team meeting deadlines and producing high quality deliverables.SWB123
