The Assistant Nurse Manager is a supervisory position, responsible for clinical functions, staffing assignments, and care coordination.ABOUT OUR ENDOSCOPY UNITWe are a high-volume procedural unitWe have 3 rooms and see close to 24 patients each dayRNs provide procedural support for therapeutic, diagnostic, and screening GI services and bronchoscopiesWORK SCHEDULE4x10 shift schedulePrimarily day shifts, Monday-Friday, with on call responsibilities for off hours casesOn call responsibilities include one weekend per monthPRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESActs as a lead point of contact for Registered Nurses and Medical AssistantsEstablishes effective workflows for routine tasks and projectsProvides procedural nursing support, which includes providing patient care before, during, and after conscious sedationFacilitates staff meetings in conjunction with the Nurse ManagerReviews unit staffing schedule and plans for coverage due to vacations, LOAs, and vacant positionsMonitors unit acuity and patient flow, and supports care coordination for complex patientsParticipates in unit and organizational committees, taskforces, and work groupsProvides feedback to the Nurse Manager for annual performance evaluationsPlans, implements, and evaluates unit orientation for staffModels service excellence in daily practiceDemonstrates ability to provide "just in time" feedback to staff regarding clinical performance, interpersonal team interactions, and patient/family communicationPromotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote staff/patient safetyREQUIREMENTS2 years of recent endoscopic nursing experiencePrevious conscious sedation experiencePrevious charge, lead, or supervisory work experienceBLSActive licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington StateABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWESTUW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
