An anesthesiologist is available for consultation and help if needed. Provides anesthesia care for only obstetrical related cases to include caesarean sections, epidurals, dilation and curettage, tubal ligations which can be scheduled or emergency obstetrical procedures. Safely transports patients to and from an anesthetizing location and ensures appropriate care during the postoperative period. Full benefit package to include but not limited to, health care coverage, dental, vision, 32 days of paid time off, continuing education, short- and long-term disability, retirement match, PSLF, along with extremely flexible scheduling.Essential Functions:Performs appropriate pre-induction evaluation of the patient's physical status. Completes a preanesthetic evaluation and discusses the plan of care with the patient and/or family, including risks, benefits, and alternatives. Formulates an appropriate anesthetic plan consistent with surgical requirements, taking into consideration the physical and emotional condition of the patient. Discusses anesthetic plan with an attending anesthesiologist as needed. (15%)Provides anesthesia care in a manner that is consistent with accepted standards of care.Recognizes urgent situations and responds in a manner that promotes the highest likelihoodof a positive patient outcome. Requests consultation from the attending anesthesiologist asappropriate. (45%)Documents patient care correctly; Maintains accurate and legible documentation of allpatient health care provided, confidentiality of patient information and records, and accuraterecords for controlled drug administration. (10%)Performs appropriate post-anesthesia evaluation, care, and discharge. Any and all postoperativecomplications are brought to the attending anesthesiologist's attention. Transfer ofpatient care responsibility to appropriate personnel with communication of significantelements of care. (20%)Attends monthly department meetings and assumes temporaryadministrative responsibilities when needed. Suggests or develops new revenue generatingor dollar saving procedures. Participates in the development of more efficient patient careservices. (5%)Contributes to development of patient teaching or care manuals. Pursues and attains morethan minimum CME credits. Actively participates in in-service education. Attendsdepartmental teaching and M&M conferences. (5%)Actively performs education and Teaching of Resident Registered Nurse Anesthetists. (5%)Education:Master's Degree In directly related field RequiredWork Experience:1-3 years related experience.
