Acts on behalf of Administration while conferring with the nursing staff, physicians and other department personnel, as necessary, to meet the overall needs of patients. Has access to and knowledge of those areas of the Hospital that impact patient care, but are not operational on a 24 hour a day basis. Informs the hospital administrator on call of any situation that may require attention. Manages staffing to provide continuity of professional nursing care.Experience: Certification in specialty area is strongly preferred. Extensive knowledge of the department's patient population, health care trends, community and regional resources and service availability to these populations. Demonstrated ability to establish effective collegial working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff, and other healthcare disciplines.Additional Job DescriptionEducation: Bachelor of Nursing degree is preferred.Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
