This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently on complex tax matters.*Key Responsibilities:** *Tax Preparation & Review*: Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.* *Tax Research*: Conduct research on tax issues and develop strategies to address client needs, staying up-to-date with changing tax laws and regulations.* *Client Communication*: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on tax-related matters, answering questions, providing updates, and offering proactive advice.* *Mentorship*: Mentor and provide guidance to junior tax accountants and staff, helping them develop their technical skills and professional growth.* *Tax Compliance*: Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, including extensions, estimated payments, and other filings as necessary.* *Project Management*: Manage multiple tax engagements simultaneously, meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality service is provided to clients.* *Collaboration*: Work with other departments (audit, bookkeeping, etc.) within the firm to ensure integrated service delivery to clients.* *Special Projects*: Handle special tax projects, such as tax projections, IRS audits, and other complex tax matters as needed.*Qualifications:** *Experience*: Minimum of three years of experience in public accounting with a strong background as a tax generalist, handling a variety of clients and tax issues.* *Education*: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
