Please report any suspicious activity to Human Resources at and/or .Position Summary: We are seeking a qualified and reliable Staff Accountant to support our Finance Department. The Staff Accountant is responsible for day to day accounting, data entry, working directly with the Finance Director and other administrative/finance staff members and in accordance with HIV Alliance fiscal policies and contractual requirements. The Staff Accountant is responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable, contract invoicing, and admin allocations. This position will support implementation of a new program, Health Related Social Needs (HRSN), including purchasing/inventory software implementation, fiscal policy/procedure and invoicing.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Assist in implementation of HRSN capacity building activities in the Finance DepartmentAccounts payable & receivableReview disbursementsCredit card entry and reconciliationPrepare and process invoices for grants and contracts, track progressPost transactions/disbursements to the general ledgerWork with staff and management to develop and implement new proceduresComplete journal entries, including monthly recurringReconcile Balance Sheet AccountsAllocate expenses to programs and track expenditures by revenue sourceAssist in preparation of financial statements, reports, and audit documentationCommunicate with staff/managers to ensure complianceMaintain spreadsheets and routine data entryConduct internal audit of pre-paid financial assistance cardsAct as a back up to staff responsible for payroll and purchasingSpecial projects and other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:TB test provided by agencyValid Oregon driver's license, or valid out of state driver's license with the ability to get an Oregon driver's license within 30 days of establishing residency in Oregon, and a driving record sufficient to be covered by agency auto insurance policyAbility to pass agency criminal background check5 years of experience and education that would provide the necessary skills. For example, Bachelor's degree in Accounting with at least one-year accounting experienceProficient with Word, Excel, Financial Edge or similar accounting softwareNonprofit finance experience preferredProfessional Competencies:Experience with inventory and inventory software preferredDetail-oriented, organized and accurateFlexible and adaptableTeam player who is self-motivated, high-energy enthusiasticCapable of respecting and maintaining confidentiality in all appropriate agency businessAbility to learn quickly, willing to ask questions to clarify informationExcellent interpersonal communication, writing, analytical, problem-solving skillsAbility to develop and maintain professional working relationshipsPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:Repetitively use hands, including grasping, twisting/turning of wrists, and finger dexterity to perform various necessary clerical duties, such as typing and writingFrequently use arms, including pushing and pulling to open & close drawers, cabinets, etc.Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time at an assigned stationBend, stand, and reach to be able to transport clients and to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds for tasks such as building kits (harm reduction, naloxone, etc.) and assembling testing and educational materialsUse continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less for processing of paperworkThe physical demands described above here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
