Learn more about this role here:Healogics is the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, treating more than 300,000 chronic wound patients annually across over 600 sites. With an aging society, obesity and diabetes on the rise, and an uptick in surgical procedures, the number of patients with non-healing wounds that would benefit from expert care is dramatically increasing. As a result, the company is working to provide our differentiated, quality outcomes to as many patients that would benefit through our out-patient clinic partnerships.Reporting to the Senior Tax Director, the Tax Accountant will work closely with the Senior Tax Director and Senior Tax Accountant in preparing the Company's income tax returns and assist in the preparation of the Company's income tax provision. This position will also be responsible for preparing indirect tax returns, annual reports and business licenses as well as assisting in improving the related processes.All Healogics employees must perform their job responsibilities according to all Healogics policies, Hospital policies, as well as to accrediting organizations, federal and state regulation, and to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, as applicable.Essential Functions/Responsibilities:Prepare and file state and local income tax returnsAssist with the preparation of the Company's income tax provisionPrepare and file state and local sales and use tax returnsPrepare and file state annual reportsPrepare and file state and local business license returnsAssist with the management of compliance with federal, state and local regulatory/tax authoritiesAssist with the preparation and processing of income tax extensions and estimated paymentsAssist with the management of the Company's property tax returns prepared by third party tax preparersMaintain current knowledge of tax laws, updates, and revisions and informs management of issues affecting the CompanyAssist with the management of federal and state tax auditsInvestigate and propose resolutions for tax notices and discrepanciesAssist with responding to requests from third party tax preparers and auditorsManage multiple projects and responsibilities while meeting statutory and internal deadlinesPrepare and reconcile specific general ledger accountsAssist with implementing strategic tax planning and completing special projectsPerforms other duties as required.Required Education, Experience and Credentials:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; requiredMinimum of zero (0) to two (2+) years' experience as a professional tax accountant; requiredCPA Certification preferred; but not requiredRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as well as company accounting policies, procedures and standardsKnowledge of federal, state and local income and sales/use tax concepts, practices and procedures for multiple entities in multiple jurisdictions.Ability to create spreadsheets and demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting softwareAbility to understand and apply learned conceptsAttention to detail, accuracy and confidentialityStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsSelf-driven personalityStrong interpersonal and collaboration skillsAbility to adapt to a dynamic and rapidly changing business environmentStrong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills.#KTHTFThis range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications: education, experience, geography as well as operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.If you are a current employee, to submit a job application, you need to apply as an internal candidate in Workday via the "Jobs Hub".
