Financial Analyst

*Overview*Possess strong accounting as well as reimbursement skills for cost reporting, Medicare and Medicaid DSH, Medicare Bad Debts and other reimbursement products. Assists with system-wide operating budget creation and monthly financial reports. Identifies trends and variances in financial reporting. Provides financial analysis and insight regarding profitability of business units and services lines. Performs modeling and forecasting projections as well as return on investment analysis. Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders and ensures timely filing of governmental audits related to reimbursement. Prepares financial and operational surveys.*Duties** Responsible for monthly closing activities including posting journal entries and reconciliation of routine general ledger accounts.* Prepares analysis and interpretation of financial trends, forecasting and preparation of financial and management reports.* Develops, analyzes and conducts complex financial analyses to assess the viability of long-range financial plans and programs; integrates generally accepted financial and accounting principles, theories and concepts to develop forecasted income statements, balance sheets and cash flows.* Coordinates and completes governmental audits, analyzes impact of audit adjustments and confirms consistency of adjustments with regulations.*Qualifications** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance & HFMA Certified Hospital Cost Report Specialist (CHCRS) eligible.
