Overview:The Accounting Supervisor at Carenet Health plays a vital leadership role in ensuring the financial integrity of the organization while supporting its mission of delivering exceptional care. This position oversees day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and organizational policies. The Accounting Supervisor leads a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative environment that emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.This role is responsible for managing critical accounting functions, including the preparation and review of financial statements, account reconciliations, internal controls, and audits. values.As a key partner to leadership, the Accounting Supervisor provides insightful analysis, supports strategic decision-making, and ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial information critical to the organization's success.This is a hybrid position based at our Woodstone location in San Antonio, TX.Responsibilities:Responsibilities and DutiesLeadership and Team DevelopmentSupervise, train, and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performing and cohesive team environment.Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to team members.Promote professional development through training opportunities, cross-functional collaboration, and growth-oriented projects.Act as a role model for team members, demonstrating accountability, problem-solving, and commitment to organizational goals.Financial Reporting and AnalysisOversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.Perform detailed variance analyses, highlighting key trends and recommending actionable solutions to improve financial performance.Provide leadership with timely and accurate financial data to guide strategic planning and decision-making.Accounting Operations and ReconciliationsEnsure all journal entries, subsidiary ledgers, and reconciliations are accurate and completed on time, maintaining alignment with the general ledger.Oversee monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring financial records are accurate and deadlines are met.Identify and resolve discrepancies within the accounting processes to maintain financial accuracy and efficiency.Compliance and Internal ControlsAssess internal control systems to identify gaps, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and CareNet Health policies.Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and maintain financial integrity.Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and practices to ensure ongoing compliance.Audit SupportCoordinate and prepare for internal and external audits by assembling necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.Address audit findings, implement recommendations, and ensure compliance in future periods.Budgeting and Financial PlanningCollaborate with leadership to prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations to achieve financial goals.Additional ResponsibilitiesManage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced healthcare environment, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.Serve as a subject matter expert on accounting systems, tools, and processes, ensuring optimal utilization and efficiency.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Accounting.Qualifications:QualificationsEducation and CertificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.CPA certification preferred but not required.ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.Experience in healthcare or a similarly regulated industry is preferred.Technical SkillsAdvanced knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis tools).Familiarity with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus.Core CompetenciesLeadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team while fostering
