We are a 4 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area.Job SummaryLeonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Payroll Specialist I for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This position will be responsible for processing Union payroll including entering new hires and employee maintenance as required. The selected candidate should have intermediate experience Excel and a high level of integrity. This position is part of a supportive and integral team that works together to ensure payroll is processed timely and efficiently.Job ResponsibilitiesUnder direction process timely weekly payroll for union employees through multiple systems, reviewing employee hours for discrepanciesProcess New Hires, Intercompany transfers, and TerminationsProcess employee payroll corrections as neededVerify payroll and leave balance throughout the payroll process to ensure all systems balanceEscalate one off issues to the payroll team/manager for review and resolution as neededVerify Awards and bonus' through the payroll systemDownload reports and distribute per requirementsBalance insurance premiums, 401K, and payroll totals to the control worksheetPrepare Accounts Payable payment requests for weekly payroll deductionsRespond to garnishment data requests from courts, ensure documents are sent to the correct parties involvedPrepare monthly Union dues reports and send to appropriate partiesEnter 3rd party sick adjustments quarterly as neededMay assist in balancing year end W-2 data, including gross wages, and taxesAnswer payroll inquiries from Union HR and managementJob Responsibilities Part IIPrepare weekly journal entriesBalance tax workbooks weeklyWork with team on other duties as needed to ensure all payroll/finance projects/upgrades are completed timelyMaintain discretion at all times due to sensitive and confidential informationSupport, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organizationQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED2+ years of experience in payrollKnowledge of payroll business procedures and principlesWorking knowledge of computerized payroll systemsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office suiteKnowledge of local, state and federal laws that pertain to the payment of wagesExperience with Costpoint, Shop Floor Time, and/or ADP a plusTaking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
