This is why our motto is:The Difference Between Living and Living Well...The Community Accountant is a key team member responsible for providing accounting and guidance to community management as it relates to the overall activities and programs of the community.$62,500-$65,000/annually*Depending on ExperienceJob Type: Full TimeEssential FunctionsPrepare monthly financial statement packages for the communities of Cascade Living Group and project entities with supporting working papers.Ensures all financial reports are prepared promptly and accurately, including expense/revenue accruals.Prepares and presents financial statements and related reports (including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports/projections, and variance analysis).Working directly with Business Office Managers and Executive Directors to identify and resolve issues.Responding promptly to requests for supporting financial information and ad hoc reports and helping with special projects (e.g., Pulling audit samples).Responding to resident refunds and consistent follow-up to ensure refunds are processed on a timely basis within the guidelines of the applicable state.General ledger accounts posting and maintaining the general ledger.Process journal entries for accruals and prepayment.Analyze various transactions and identify appropriate accounting treatment.Payroll processing and reporting, (Paylocity).Post monthly resident adjustments & ancillary charges.Record cash receipts, late fees, and resident write-offs.Post monthly recurring charges to residents of assigned communities.Maintain rent increases on a timely basis.Monthly and quarterly, all applicable tax reporting is as per the state guidelines.Reconcile bank accounts.Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts.Actively contribute information to streamline procedures.Update/write accounting desktop procedures for new tasks, if needed.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearend financial statements/final reporting packages.Perform a wide variety of accounting analyses, such as budget vs. actual variance, and explain variance in narratives.Assist with the preparation of annual operating budgets.Assist in preparing and running 1099 Reports for all entities before yearly deadlines.Assist management with special projects and other tasks as assigned.Providing continual feedback to the accounting management team with a heavy emphasis on process improvement.Minimum Eligibility Requirements:Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, or Finance: or equivalent of four or more years of relevant experience with progressive advancementStrong technical skills (excellent Excel skills required)Experience using multi-entity property management software such as Yardi.Below are some of the Cascade Living Group benefit offerings:Competitive wagesCareer PathwaysHealth Insurance (for those eligible)Voluntary benefits (Disability, Accident, Life)Flexible Pet Insurance for cats and dogs401K (with company match)Pay advancesPerks at Work Discount ProgramGenerous Paid Time OffEducation AssistanceLongevity BonusesAs an inclusive workplace, everyone is welcomed at Cascade Living.
