This position will oversee and provide leadership to the accounting department. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting in the financial management of Catholic Charities (CC) and related All Saints (AS) organizations.This position is predominantly in-person, requiring regular attendance at our office. While some remote work may be possible, the role necessitates a significant on-site presence to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.This is a great opportunity to make an impact in the lives of many and become part of the Catholic Charities family!Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000We offer the following:HealthDentalVisionLife403(b) with a 6% match after 1 yearPTO (23 days to start)10 HolidaysEmployee Referral Program ($500 per referral)Principal ResponsibilitiesOversee and provide leadership to the accounting department to meet the organization's yearly financial cycle, including budgets, audits, and monthly financial statements.Coordinate reporting to outside funders.Attend managerial level meetings and trainings.Maintains accounting systems and develops improvements and enhancements to systems and their related policies and procedures, including those for contributions, program revenue, payroll, expense management and fixed assets.Review all contracts with revenue and expense contracts to ensure proper accounting of and compliance with provisions in contracts.Review all statement of financial position account reconciliations.Guide and lead the accountants on proper GAAP application and company policy to ensure proper recording, reporting and reconciliation of revenues and expenses.Coordinates monthly financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.Assist the CFO with oversight of Accounting Policy and Procedures, and with annual audits.Ensures organizational compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory requirements.QualificationsAccounting BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university. CPA is preferred.At minimum, seven to ten years of accounting and finance experience, including prior experience managing an accounting department, is required.Strong working knowledge of GAAP and NFP accounting.Proficient with MS Office and fund accounting software. Knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and Raiser's Edge NXT a plus.Ability to identify and implement process improvements.Experience in a nonprofit with multiple service programs, is highly preferred.Experience with supervising, mentoring, and training others.Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills with an awareness of self, and emotional intelligence to assess and manage personality differences.Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues building strong working relationships with the management team.Ability to establish and maintain an effective system for organizing multiple projects, requests, deadlines, emails, and paper streams.Ethical decision making and commitment to compliance with regulations and company policy.Catholic Charities is committed to achieving a diverse workforce and to maintaining an atmosphere of equity and inclusion.
