Infection Preventionist

*Job Summary*The Infection Preventionist plays a critical role in safeguarding patient health and safety within healthcare settings. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control policies and procedures to minimize the risk of infections. The Infection Preventionist collaborates with healthcare teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in infection prevention.*Responsibilities** Under varying levels of supervision, conducts, facilitates, develops, and monitors activities and functions relating to surveillance, investigation, analysis, interpretation, reporting, prevention, and control of infections and communicable diseases.* Participates in assessing, implementing, and maintaining a culture of safety across the continuum of care, by performing a wide range of prevention and control functions.* Supports the delivery of safe patient-centered, quality care and collaborates with various departments across the health care setting to facilitate improved outcomes and patient experience.* Acts in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations and infection control standards.*Qualifications** Two (2) years of satisfactory clinical experience or experience working in infection prevention and control, health care epidemiology or a related field in a hospital or a health care setting.* Holds Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC)* Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Epidemiology, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Nursing or a related discipline.* EPIC experience is required* Certification of Infection Control Required (CIC)*Job description**Job details:** *Job title: *Infection Preventionist* *Shift: *M-F 5/*8* *Job location: *New York, NY,10016* *Duration: *13weeks*Job requirements:** Certification of Infection Control Required (CIC)* EPIC experience* BLS - AHA* Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Epidemiology, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Nursing or a related discipline.* Two (2) years of satisfactory clinical experience or experience working in infection prevention and control, health care epidemiology or a related field in a hospital or a health care setting.Job Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* Health insurance* Life insurance* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Day shiftEducation:* Master's (Preferred)Experience:* infection prevention and control, health care epidemiology: 2 years (Required)License/Certification:* Certification of Infection Control Required (CIC) (Required)* BLS Certification (Required)Ability to Commute:* New York, NY (Required)Ability to Relocate:* New York, NY: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
