The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery (HVS), the first surgery-exclusive veterinary hospital in New York City, seeks to build our team further for inpatient care. We are a collaborative team of passionate veterinary professionals practicing in a clinician-designed, 10,000-square-foot facility, having launched in July 2023. The role will have an element of task flexibility and will cover the inpatient population, sedated procedures, and discharges.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / REQUIRED SKILLS:Monitoring patient recovery, ensuring our standard of client and patient experience is metPlacing and maintaining intravenous, central, arterial, and urinary cathetersMaintaining feeding tubes and chest tubesMonitoring patients requiring oxygen supplementation and transfusionsPatient care inclusive of pre and post outpatient surgical care- Obtaining blood samples, removing sutures, placing bandagesREQUIREMENTS:Licensure in New York State required2 years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary TechnicianCritical Care or ICU experience a plusExperience with practice management software, ezyVet preferredAdaptability, being able to pivot effortlessly while demonstrating a positive attitude with clients and co-workersExpert time management skillsHighly organized and acute attention to detailSound judgment with the ability to work ethically, independently, and responsiblyResourceful and collaborative problem resolution skillsStrong and respectful written and verbal communication skillsDedication to excellent service for each client and patientOpenness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learningWHAT WE OFFER:$32 - $39/hr.$7,500 sign-on bonusConsistent 4-day (10 hr) work week Monday - FridayComprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage120 hours of PTO per year - 40 hours granted on January 1st, 80 hours accrued throughout the calendar yearThree paid CE days per year in addition to reimbursement of CE registration and travel stipendDiscounted pet insurance through MetLifePaid Parental Leave401(k) with a company matchAFLAC voluntary benefitsEmployee pet discountsScrub allowanceAn organization that supports you and provides the resources to nurture your talents and goals
