As a Medical Assistant/EMT, you will be a vital part of our healthcare team. You will assist in various clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic and providing excellent care to our patients in a fast paced, high-energy clinical office environment. Your role with us is more than a career; it's an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve by providing uncompromising care, one patient at a time!ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Prepare patient(s) for and assist with examination and/or treatment• Perform triage and obtain vital signs• Obtain and accurately document patient history in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in a timely manner• Collect and maintain all patient and business documents while always maintaining confidentiality• Collect routine laboratory specimens including phlebotomy, urinalysis and/or oral swabs• Administer medications and non-intravenous injections (intramuscular, subcutaneous and/or intradermal)• Start an IV, place a catheter and perform splinting when needed/directed• Perform various clinical, aseptic and/or basic laboratory procedures• Document within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) all medical interventions timely and accurately• Train and assist with our Occupational Medicine service line utilizing our current EMR system, drug screening, breath alcohol testing, audiograms, respiratory fit, pulmonary function testing and/or abiding by the systems and/or protocols set forth by the company• Understand and enforce standard health care regulatory requirements• Responsible for quality assurance program for compliance with CLIA waived laboratory and patient result trackers• Always ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance• Perform office procedures including all general administrative duties; ability to operate all office medical equipment• Other duties as assignedEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT & QUALIFICATIONS:• Successful completion of a MA or EMT program from an accredited institution. If EMT, must be licensed in the state of Georgia• One year of relevant healthcare experience preferred; preferably urgent care or emergency department• We are willing to train stellar new graduates• Must be proficient in venipuncture and injections• Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical anatomy, and physiology• Ability to travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care centers when neededPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:• Required to work 12 hours shifts, weekends and holidays• Required to sit, walk, reach with hands and arms throughout workday• Finger dexterity and hand coordination required• Occasionally required to lift moderate weight (20-40 pounds)• Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust or focusYour Invitation to Make a Difference - At Piedmont Urgent Care, we invite you to be part of something bigger, contributing to a purposeful endeavor that transcends the ordinary.
