Site Medical Director - Valentine Lane

Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking part-time Site Medical Director to join our team supporting the Yonkers Valentine Lane site.Diagnosis and treatment of patients in his/her specialty area; collaboration and supervision of nurse practitioners and physician's assistants; participation in planning and developing health care services in his/her specialties, treatment of conditions and illnesses within the scope of the physician's specialty, referral and follow-up of patients when indicated, participation in after hours coverage to insure 24-hour availability of care for Center patients. Performs job duties in compliance with systems and job specific standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Site Medical Director:* Takes histories, performs physical examinations, and prescribes treatment and medication for conditions falling in the scope of his /her specialty following evidence based standard of care.* Provides off hours and hospital coverage for Health Center patients where contractually obligated to do so.* Designs and participates in quality improvement activities, including Medical Record Peer Review, performance and procedure audits, outcome audits, and focused reviews.* Provides supervision for clinical activities of Medical providers and medical documentation in his/her department, including but not limited to review of protocols, telephone triage, follow-up procedures.* Coordinates tests, referrals, and care of SRH patients outside the Health Center.* Sets standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening within his/her specialty; participates in the development of programs to carry out these standards.* Maintains legible and appropriate documentation of medical records.* Participates and attends provider meetings* Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.Minimum Education Requirement: Doctorate Degree (including MD, DO, DD, PhD, etc.)Minimum Licensure: Board Certification, Physician License, and CPR/BLSRequired Skills & Knowledge:- Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that nurse practitioners are trained to do and are necessary for practicing in health care centers.- Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education)- Ability to collaborate with other members of the Health Center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.- Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) is preferredSun River Health is a network of over 40 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) providing primary, dental, pediatric, OB-GYN, and behavioral health care to over 245,000 patients annually.
