Administrative and clinical activities necessary in the provision of admissions services for persons of substance use disorders who are entering outpatient services. No supervisory responsibilities. May require extended after hours and weekend work.JOB DUTIESConducts intakes and assessments on new admissions and recommends placement into services based on ASAM criteria.Provides crisis intervention services to clients as needed.Develops an Individualized Treatment Plan along with client input.Maintains up-to-date written documentation of client contact in individual client folders as required by agency documentation guidelines.Makes referrals to external agencies or internal programs as appropriate for the identified client.Participates in weekly treatment staffing to receive and provide feedback on client admissions.Maintains effective working relationships with external agencies through regular case management and other community liaison activities.Trains and monitors the performance of assigned counselors.Plans and conducts individual or group counseling sessions with assigned clients as ordered on the Individualized Treatment Plan.Completes periodic written client evaluations and reports in a neat and timely manner as needed.Prepares periodic and specific reports as requested or assigned.Performs administrative duties relevant to client services.Actively support a trauma informed and responsive work environment as demonstrated in the 5 core values of safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.Performs related duties as required.Serves on Commission committee(s) as needed.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to speak and write fluently in Spanish and English.Ability to translate English forms into Spanish forms as necessary and translate meaning of English words into easy to understand concepts for Spanish speaking clients.Knowledge of rehabilitative counseling principles and techniques applicable to substance use disorder treatment.Knowledge of the field of psychology to include excellent listening and counseling skills.Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of substance use disorder problems and the disease of addiction.Ability to problem solve stressful dilemmas to achieve desired outcomes while maintaining professional demeanor.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, staff and other agencies.Ability to communicate clearly in both written and oral report.Knowledge of department and agency policies and procedures.We offer:Competitive SalaryState Medical BenefitsDental and visionLife insuranceLong term disabilityAFLAC optionsState Retirement and Disability401KFlexible Spending AccountsPet insuranceSick, Vacation, and Holiday PayBereavement and Jury Duty LeaveCasual Dress codeEmployee Assistance ProgramTraining OpportunitiesFamily friendly cultureYMCA discountVerizon DiscountMasters or Bachelors degree in human service area from accredited institution with successful completion of ADC process within 3 years of hire.
