*Job Overview**GENERAL SUMMARY:* The RN Education and Quality Specialist is committed to ensuring education services and quality measure resource support to patient care leadership, clinical staff, and patients. This is accomplished through a variety of services, including development and continuing education for employees, and a leadership role in committee/project work. The work requires and independent, critical thinking, self-motivated individual who demonstrates effective decision-making and problem-solving skills, flexibility, and the ability to take a leadership role in facilitating organizational change through partnerships with staff and managers.*QUALIFICATIONS:**Required:* Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) and Master's degree in Nursing or related field. Relevant clinical experience; teaching adult learners; development of learning materials; Current Wisconsin RN license or eligible; CPR certification; proficiency in computer applications required for the role; excellent decision-making, organization, planning and prioritization skills; clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of clinic policies and procedures related to clinical roles; patient confidentiality; ability to maintain effective working relationships with medical providers and staff.*Preferred:* Membership in a professional organization; Epic experience.*PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*1. Orienting newly hired patient care employees and onboarding students in a variety of medical education programs.2. Developing, updating, and delivering continuing education to current staff.3. Assessing education needs and validating skill competency. Facilitating in-service activities when applicable.4. Analyzes quality measure data specific to the clinic and takes action to improve workflows and data reporting to governing bodies.5. Maintains strong understanding of Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) quality measures applicable to all patient populations and is able to provide references supporting the rationale for quality standards.6. Maintains clear understanding of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) policy and reimbursement. Maintains appropriate access to assist with annual Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) attestation for providers.7. Oversees and guides Healthcare Quality & Data Specialist to prioritize and facilitate chart completeness and integrity.8. Program planner, implementer, facilitator, and evaluator. This role develops instructional programs to improve knowledge and increase skills of patient care personnel.9. Support physician workflows and best practices by aiding with physician continuing education.10. Work with the leadership team as a change agent/facilitator for positive change in alignment with the clinical, academic, and interdepartmental needs of the clinic.11. Evaluate and coach employees regarding their educational and developmental needs to support career advancement.12. Assist leadership team with role transitions and succession planning.13. Performs other duties as assigned.*ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:*Combination of office and exam settings. Work time is split between independent projects and teaching/coaching contact with providers and medical staff.*PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:*Varied activities including standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. Ability to multi-task in a busy environment with competing priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work autonomously and independently and assume responsibility for timely completion of assigned functions. Ability to exercise sound judgement, seek advice when appropriate and take responsibility for decision-making.
