We would love to have you join our team of caring individuals committed to the care of the underserved population.About this positionThis position serves as the Assistant Health Services Administrator to ensure the comprehensive compliance and care given within the medical unit at the assigned facility including but not limited to staffing, compliance, coordination of internal/external services, and communicating effectively with the facility staff as well as GENESYS Health Alliance Corporate office.Education:Requires graduation from a nationally accredited Registered Nursing programCertificationsCurrent single state and/or multi-state Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment or ability to obtain licenseCurrent CPR certificationJob Type: Full-timeCorrectional nursing experience preferred but not requiredManagement experience (preferred)Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background checkGeneral Duties: (not limited to but includes)Acts within state licensing mandates and established scope of practice by the State Board of Nursing and as a role model for other staffUtilizes established GENESYS Health Alliance policies/procedures and correctional policies/procedures in decision-making along with sound, independent judgment in meeting responsibilities and performing duties of the position. Reports any individual violating GENESYS Health Alliance or facility policies.Ensure current knowledge of GENESYS Health Alliance policy and procedures, state/federal laws, state nurse practice acts, NCCHC standards and site operational workflow.Maintains a good working relationship with correctional personnel, nursing staff, contracted providers, outside provider agencies, and corporate office staffMaintains current licensure/certification for professional degree and basic life support-healthcare provider certificationApproaches change in a positive manner and motivates other staff members to work as a team.Accepts feedback on performance improvements with the goal of professional growth and development of personal skillsStrong interpersonal skills that allow tact and professionalism at all times; Ability to cope with stressors and remain calm; Ability to defuse situations and function as a role model for staffRepresents GENESYS Health Alliance in a professional manner with all written and verbal communications, dress, and positive, polite attitudeProvide feedback to other staff members regarding compliance issues, professional concerns, and fulfilling assigned duties in a positive, professional mannerCompletes a yearly written evaluation on all directly supervised staff, and a three (3) month evaluation on new employees who are under direct supervision as directed by Health Services AdministratorPrepares accurate and thorough reports requested by the Health Services Administrator. Completes all required reports and forwards within established time framesAssists to ensure adequate staffing at the facility and maintains accurate employee schedule on manager company calendar including edits when changes occurAssists with interviews and employee actions as needed or as directed by Health Service AdministratorFills in as needed during periods of short staffing. Shifts may vary- days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Accept assignments at other locations in the event of emergent situations and assist with start-up facilities as neededAccepts on-call status as scheduled and responds to all calls in a timely mannerAssist the Health Service Administrator to review time sheets and forward information needed to justify any OT, absences, leave, etc. Answer any payroll questions in a timely manner to prevent delays in processing payrollAttend/conduct meetings as required (regional training, in-service training, monthly staff meeting, Infection Control, Continuous Quality Improvement, seminars, conferences, etc.)Meets with designated Jail Administration as needed basis; Follow up meetings with confirmation emails/memos/letters of confirmation on items discussedFunctions as a liaison between GENESYS Health Alliance and other professional organizations as neededUses effective problem-solving techniques to identify existing and potential problems. Takes effective action as needed to correct issues identifiedDirects and promotes employees as a supervisory function in daily workflow of the medical unitOrients and evaluates performance of nursing and clerical staff personnel as assignedEnsure level of patient care is accordance with GENESYS Health Alliance policy and procedure in an organized and proficient mannerEnsure clinic routine nursing duties are completed on assigned shifts such as intake processing, medication administration, patient assessment for urgent or routine issues, setting up for provider visits in the clinic setting, assist provider with procedures in clinic, collaborating with custody staff on inmate special needs, medication verification, ordering sup- plies, conducting medical rounds, notifying providers of specific inmate issues, wound care, providing specific patient education, etc.Ensure staff are prepared for provider visits and that patients are transported to medical in a timely manner. Communicates any issues with provider availability, efficiency opportunities and/or needs with facility administrationReviews status of inmates/detainees with serious health problems/high risk conditions ensuring all necessary intervention and treatment is completedMonitors inpatient hospitalizations and ensures early release whenever appropriateEvaluates referrals to outside consultants and ER for necessity of referral and intervenes when necessary related to security issues.
