Overview:Responsible for the assessments and/or coordination of assessments of all residents and completion of MDS forms in accordance with State and Federal regulations and facility policies.Responsibilities:Obtains The Necessary Information To Perform A Thorough And Accurate Assessment In The MDS ProcessReview The Daily CensusPrepares Interim Schedules/ Significant Change For Medicaid And Medicare MDS Assessments DailyInputs Data For Medicaid And Medicare In American Health Care Systems From MDS BookletsPrepares And Transmits MDS/PRI Files To DOH By Using IBM Dialer And Netscape Timely And AccuratelyPulls Quality Indicator Reports From State Software As RequiredFiles MDS Booklets On Residents' ChartOrders Supplies For MDS Office. Inputs All Data PRI Full House, Quarterly's And Discharges. Distributes Reports To LeadershipWorks Closely With Quality Improvement DepartmentPerforms other related dutiesQualifications:Education:Bachelors Degree in NursingExperience:Minimum five (5) years experience in clinical nursing including two (2) years in performing MDS completionKnowledge and Skills:Ability to work in surroundings with degree of dust, noise, etc. without undue discomfort.Ability to hear, talk, walk, stand, bend and stretchAbility to read, write and interpret documentsAbility to sit for long periods of time at desk to perform job functionsAbility to stand for long periods of time at required patient bedside and/or procedural areasAbility to communicate effectively with patients and/or co-workersMay be required to operate and clean equipmentMay be required to handle reasonably heavy weights across distancesMay be required to handle/ assist in lifting patients onto/out of exam beds/procedure stationsMust be trained in and knowledgeable of all Kingsbrook/Rutland policies and procedures pertaining to hazardous waste and hazardous materials and maintain qualifications applicable to assigned workOther: Knowledge of all codes and demonstrate understandingLicenses, Certifications:Licensed Registered Nurse with NYSPhysical Requirements:Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue.
