A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.Job Summary:Senior Credit Officer in second line of defense is responsible for review, challenge and approvals serving as the primary contact with the Front Office Business and Risk/Underwriting teams. This role focuses on supporting the Structured Solutions businesses covering a range of underlying structured credit risks. This role requires familiarity with counterparty credit risks to support FX and derivatives business for a range of counterparties, including but not limited to Private Equity funds. The candidate will provide an oversight into the portfolio of clients in these areas.Major Responsibilities:Structured Solutions coverage: The individual will be responsible for credit exposures arising from structured credit transactions involving a range of asset types, ranging from corporate credit as an underlying (e.g. Middle Market corporate loans) to LP interests in PE funds. The candidate will work with the Front Office teams structuring and underwriting such transactions, reviewing and challenging their work and will be the first level within the approval function.Structuring and Underwriting: The candidate will work closely with the Business Line in the structuring and underwriting and control of such exposures. Using your experience with asset-based financing structures and market terms to advise and challenge the Business line.Work with Business Line to identify prospective transactions that are consistent with MUFG risk appetite.Identify structural risks and mitigants in prospective transactions. Using your knowledge and experience, fulfill a review and challenge role for requests made by the Business line.Participate in client due diligence calls to form an independent Credit Risk view of managers and transactions they request.Oversight: The candidate will work with the Front Office Risk and Business teams to monitor the portfolio of existing transactions and report/escalate on issues as necessary.Counterparty Credit: The individual will work with the Front Office (Sales & Trading and Credit Underwriting) to support the establishment of trading limits for FX and derivatives for a range of Fund and FIG counterparty types.Work with Business Line to ensure prospective clients, transaction types and documentation terms that are consistent with MUFG risk appetite.Identify structural risks and mitigants and ensure appropriate documentation terms.Using your knowledge and experience, fulfill a review, challenge and Credit Approval role for requests made by the Business line.Participate in client due diligence calls to form an independent Credit Risk view of asset managers and counterparties and the transactions they request.Staying current on changes and potential changes in the sector and market or regulatory developments is an important element of this role.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in related field.10+ years of work experience with a structured credit business or Counterparty Credit in either a first (Business or Risk) or second line (Risk) role. This can be from either the Sell or Buy side.Knowledge of, and experience with, asset-based financing structures and market terms is necessary to be able to advise and challenge the Business lines. Experience in assessing complex financing transactions across a range of collateral types, including structuring, sponsor/manager due diligence / and documentation terms is a strong plus.Experience in a Second line Risk function at a financial institution is a plus.Strong written and verbal communications skillsThe typical base pay range for this role is between $200K - $300K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
