Job SummaryThis position is responsible for managing accounting records and generating accurate reports, analysis, and financial statements, adhering to company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Key Responsibilities- Record entries accurately in the general ledger and ensure accounts are properly balanced.- Process and validate accounts payable transactions, including the preparation of payment batches.- Audit, post, and adjust accounts receivable entries as needed.- Support the weekly processing of hourly payroll.- Assist with month-end financial close for the facility.- Maintain organized accounting and payroll files, in line with record-keeping protocols.- Provide general administrative support, including organizing files, copying materials, and managing electronic or fax correspondence.- Respond to corporate inquiries and periodic filings as directed by the Controller, using follow-up systems to ensure timely responses.Basic Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent education.- At least one year of experience in a business office or accounting role, with exposure to general ledger, payroll, or accounts payable functions.- Working knowledge of fundamental accounting procedures.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.Preferred Qualifications- Associate's degree or relevant college-level accounting coursework.- Experience in a manufacturing environment or related industry.- Familiarity with software used for accounts payable and general ledger functions.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage detail-oriented tasks and review numerous documents and reports.- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple requests simultaneously.- High regard for confidentiality and secure management of sensitive information.- Well-developed organizational skills, capable of handling multiple details, deadlines, and requests efficiently.- Effective listening and organizational abilities.- Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime if needed.- Previous experience in a team setting is preferred, with an understanding of the value of open communication and collaboration among team members.''
