Part-time, Eve/Night7p-7a24 hrs/weekIncludes every-third-weekend & rotating holidaysGeneral SummaryWorks collaboratively to facilitate a stable and smooth operation of the unit and provides therapeutic interventions in accordance with best practice guidelines, care plans and policies.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:Coordinates and monitors the activities of the individual's plan of care.Performs all duties and responsibilities of the nursing assistant job description.Provides direct care to patients primarily assisting with behavioral symptom management techniques and to assist patients in adapting to and/or coping with internal and external stresses.Provides assistance to the care team in development of and updating the care plan and discharge planning.Promotes patient attendance and participation in activities and documents participation.Provides practical help and side-by-side coaching, problems solving, training, and assistance to help patients with their activities of daily living and concerns.Provides direct care to patients in a manner that considers safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.Assists the team members in the care and needs of the patients.Assists with performance improvement measures and improving outcomes.Common Expectations:Demonstrates working as one with other team members, maintaining positive solution-focused communication, taking initiative, leading by example, demonstrating open and consistent communication, understanding of diagnosis and clinical interventions, and investing in the development of growth of staff and the unit.Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population.Establishes and maintains positive therapeutic relationships with the patients.Demonstrates commitment to patients, visitors and other staff by complying with all applicable safety regulations, identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety, and participating in real time problem solving, 4C and root cause analyses as required.Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, staff meetings and workshops.Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.Maintains proficiency in principals of de-escalation.Completes documentation according to established standards.Required for All Jobs:Performs other related duties as identified.WellSpan Health has adopted and implemented a compliance program to support WellSpan's values and standards for professionalism, integrity, and ethics. RequiredLicenses:Basic Life Support Upon Hire RequiredCertified Nurse Aide Upon Hire PreferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.Analytical skills, organization and time management.Mental and visual ability to observe patient behavior and document findings.Teaching ability.Excellent customer service.Knowledge of therapeutic activities, preferred.
