This individual assists the DON and Administrator in a manner that supports and enhances the goals of the department. The ADON reports to the DON.Ensures that all aspects of resident care meet the goals, objectives, and quality standards of the department.Works with DON on establishing and implementing best practice policies and procedures.Performs audits and quality review to ensure staff compliance with set policies and procedures.Assigns staff to assist providers during rounds if required.Oversees the units Quality Programs and Performance Improvement Programs in collaboration with the DON.Leads staff by example in treating all supervisors, coworkers, and residents with respect.Education and/or Experience: A current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and a minimum of one (1) year of experience with management or supervisory in geriatrics and be knowledgeable of state and federal regulations in the long-term care and assisted living setting. Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college in a related field, degree from accredited school of nursing or equivalent experience preferred.Recent experience as a Manager/Supervisor within the last 3 years, preferably in a SNF/LTC environment.Ability to prioritize patient/resident care, by making connections with our residents, their families, and our staff.Ability to collaboratively problem solve.Experienced with electronic charting.Ability to empower the team by providing tools for success.Proficient in the use of software applications including Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word).Our ideal candidate has the following characteristics:Professional leadership abilities including critical thinking, autonomy, and authenticity.Positive mindset and solution oriented.Strong professional communication skills.Ability to manage and mentor the healthcare team.Ability to work with and lead a diverse team.Organization and time-management skills.Positive attitude and teamwork.About Atlantic ShoresOur vision at Atlantic Shores is "To be a neighborhood where people want live and work."
