We incorporate solid business practices with skill and compassion to provide superior service, expedite healing, and enhance the quality of life for patients recovering in skilled nursing facilities.Facility Location: Grosse Pointe Woods-21401 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236Schedule: Full Time-M-FGeneral Summary:In this role you will provide speech-language pathology services to patients impaired by cognitive/communicative or swallowing dysfunction, including assessment, treatment planning and implementation of treatment plans. Completes appropriate documentation and adheres to policies, procedures, applicable licensure laws, and current standards of clinical practice.Your Responsibilities:Conducts speech-language pathology screenings and evaluations to determine patient cognitive/communicative and/or swallowing status using standardized tests and measures.Develops and implements treatment plans to reach patients' highest potential for independence consistent with the professional and ethical standards of the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) in order to improve and maintain function and to reach patients' highest potential for independence.Assess effects of treatment on an ongoing basis and modifying the patient's plan to achieve maximum benefit.Checks, instructs, assigns and reviews the work of CFY as assigned and in accordance with ASHA standards.Confers with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revision in treatment program and integrate speech therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care.Provides documentation to maintain quality of the medical record as it relates to accuracy, continuity of care and reimbursement guidelines.Participates, as requested, in patient and family care conferences.Educate and instructs patient and family/caregiver(s) in treatment procedures to be continued when not in therapy or as a home exercise program.Participates in Quality Assurance activities as directed by Agency Administrator, and/or site specific Director of Therapy.Promotes current standards of clinical practice through participation in internal and external continuing education, in-service programs and certifications sponsored by the agency.Participates in new program development to expand the clinical services of the rehabilitation agency.Participates in agency meetings and additional activities as directed to facilitate effective agency operations.Required Qualifications:Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited programASHA Certificate of Clinical CompetenceLicensure as required by the State of MichiganSkills and Abilities:Initiative and flexibility in work environmentAbility to exercise professional judgement and initiative when analyzing problems and recommending solutions.Ability to react effectively to the needs of patients and their families.Physical ability to exert force up to 20 pounds.Employee Benefits:Daily PayAffordable Medical coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield MI.401k Eligibility & matching after 3 months of service.Paid HolidaysReimbursement for Professional Licensure and CEU Credits.#RR
