Nocturnist

*Nocturnist General Statement of Duties:** Evaluate all patients referred by the Emergency Department for admission to inpatient or observation on a nursing unit including their suitability for admission/observation status* Complete history and physical examination including all elements required by Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations. H&P to be completed no later than the end of the work shift* Complete medication reconciliation, reconciliation of outside problem lists, and admitting orders for all patients admitted to inpatient/observation status including appropriate prophylaxis for deep venous thrombosis* Assure that all necessary consultants have been contacted for each admission* Perform a warm handoff and sign-out to the attending physician by the end of the shift* Participate in all Patient Experience and Patient Safety programs at the hospital*Nocturnist Eligibility Requirements:** Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine* Those that are board eligible must complete the certification process within 5 years of eligibility* Unrestricted New York State License.* DEA license.* Must meet all St. Joseph Hospital Medical Staff credentialing requirements.* Maintain ACLS & BLSAt Catholic Health, we believe in a people-first approach.
