The passion you may have been missing in previous workplaces can be found at Ohio's Hospice of Central Ohio.What You Should Know About the Nurse Manager Role:This is a full-time, exempt position that will oversee both our OSU Wexner Medical Center and Licking Memorial Hospice Inpatient Units. Will be responsible for managing direct reports and their schedules.We provide superior care and superior services to patients at their end of life journey. Only those who have a heart for hospice will succeed.The Program Manager Essential Duties Are:Provides leadership in developing and attaining growth and retention goals for an independent site of Hospice of Central Ohio. Responsible for the planning, implementation, delivery, coordination, and management of hospice services delivered by the independent site consistent with Hospice of Central Ohio's mission, policies and procedures.Qualifications:Requires registered nurse (BSN preferred), with a current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio.Five years of management experience required; MBA/MSN preferred.Two years Hospice or related experience required.Computer literacy and typing proficiency required. Requires ability to learn new applications to produce and retrieve a complex variety of information.A comprehensive understanding of diseases and treatment modalities is preferred.High level of interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required.Requires strong organizational and effective time management skills.Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of end of life care with expertise in pain and symptom management and hospice nursing.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.Demonstrate ability to analyze situations, work independently, and problem solving.Ability to lead and manage a team of staff.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for the development, operations, productivity, and outcomes of an assigned site.Plans and implements systems and processes to effectively and efficiently support the patient care functions and contributes to maximizing efficiencies, productivity, and outcomes.Makes suggestions for improvements in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures.Actively participates and regularly communicates with HOCO management and leadership to promote departmental and organizational collegiality and mission.Monitors department and individual employee data, accountability standards, and metrics as determined appropriate. Addresses performance below standards.Collects, analyzes, and uses data in planning of budget, staffing, and growth.Develops and promotes working relationships with community agencies and current and potential patient care partners. Maintains partnerships with local hospitals, physicians, and facilities.Develops services and programs to grow the site(s). Manages and develops the site(s)'s territory.Ensures clinicians are coordinating appropriate services, using an interdisciplinary plan of care and utilizing community resources.Investigates customer complaints specific to the site(s) and ensures appropriate resolution.Develops and facilitates training and educational programs to meet the needs of HOCO staff, facility partners, and the community.Communicates changes and new information to staff.Ensures all required documentation from assigned staff is recorded, approved, and submitted in an accurate, complete, and timely manner.Responsible for the IDG process at assigned site(s).Participates in clinical record reviews, quality assessment and indicators, and implementation of suggested changes.Rotates administrator on-call duties for HOCO.Ensures compliance with federal/state and accrediting bodies. Ensures site(s) is survey ready.Maintains current knowledge of Conditions of Participation, accreditation standards, and Standards of Practice.Responsible for management and maintenance of the physical site(s).Benefits & Perks: your health and happiness matters!
