Your Experience Matters - New Higher Salaries Based on ExperienceSalary Range (Annualized) $70,720- $76,960Monitors and coordinates the delivery of health care services for individuals with developmental disabilities who are attending People Inc. Day Programs and living in community based homes. Supervises the adequate completion of delegated nursing tasks to direct care staff and LPN's. Provides / participates in Agency training.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIESMonitors and coordinates the delivery of preventive and routine health care for individuals with developmental disabilities in both the day program and residential settingsProvides Agency training as requiredCoordinates and provides health services and training on those services for staffOversees delegated health related tasks to Direct Care Staff and LPN'sProvides medication training and certification to direct care staff per regulations and Agency policyAdheres to and ensures facility compliance with all physicians, NP, PA, etc. ordersBased upon the independent judgment of the RN, the RN has the authority to suspend and/or revoke the responsibility of a Direct Care Staff or LPN to perform or complete any delegated taskBased upon the independent judgment of the RN, the RN as the authority to suspend and/or revoke medication certifications and medication administration of the direct care staff or LPN.Completes a physical health and development on individuals every 6 months in day programsIn coordination with program managers in day programs, ensures safeguards are updated as neededWithin each month, completes a monthly breast exam on female clients if specifically ordered at day program by PMDCoordinates medical program needs with community services, medical providers and other related agenciesEnsures adequate scheduling and completion of health related exams, appointments, laboratory / diagnostic testing as ordered or requiredMonitors medication administration in the facilityCompletes a thorough Annual Medication review (Non-ICF) or ensures a pharmacist completes a Quarterly Medication Review (ICF)For ICF's, completes quarterly nursing reviews for each person receiving servicesWithin each year, updates the Plans of Nursing Services and ensures review with staffWithin each month, completes a monthly breast exam on female clients, if ordered by a physician and / or provides training to individualCoordinates and provides health services / training for staffOversees delegated health related tasks to Direct Care Staff and LPN'sProvides medication training and certification to direct care staff per regulations and Agency policyParticipates as an active member of the Interdisciplinary TeamMaintains compliance with all applicable State / Federal regulations and Agency policy and procedureMaintains communication with LPN (as applicable), Program Manager, Program Administration, Service Coordinator and other staff as necessaryFull time residential RN's will follow a rotation schedule for emergency staff training on Saturdays and SundaysComplies with all Agency policy and proceduresOther duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCurrent NYS license to practice as a Registered NurseNYS Drivers License that meets Agency policy1 year of related experienceAbility to meet physical requirements of the position when performing the following:StandingWalkingSittingBendingStoopingSquattingKneelingClimbingLifting requirement of 35 lbsAbility to move, reposition, and place individuals in pieces of equipmentPhysical agility and ability to react to emergency situations, including maintaining Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) as per Agency guidelinesWhy People Inc.?When you join the People Inc. team, you can make a difference in the lives of people receiving services while also receiving outstanding benefits (generous PTO, PTO buyback, affordable insurances, tuition reimbursement, career mentoring, shift incentives, on-demand pay access and more), consistent schedules and the opportunity to help others move closer to their life goals and dreams.
