Duties may include:Assist in planning, evaluating and providing direct nursing care of residents.Serve as a Charge Nurse supervising the work of CNAs or PCAs.Perform nursing activities which contribute to maintenance of the residents personal hygiene; nutritional needs; maintenance or restoration of normal elimination processes; corrective body alignment and body tissue.Transcribe physicians orders and assist with medical rounds.Observe and report changes in resident conditions accurately and reports changes as required to the RN Supervisor or attending physician.Assist in the development and implementation of resident care plans and in coordinating the multidisciplinary plan of care with all other services.Support the efforts of other therapies by effectively carrying out restorative nursing measures established in conjunction with the respective therapies.Perform treatments and other nursing measures as indicated by the physicians orders and the resident plan of care.Accurately document observations and report them to appropriate sources as indicated.Effectively apply comfort and safety measures to meet residents needs.Administer medications to residents according to established policy and procedure, including controlled substances.Order medications on a timely basis from the pharmacy provider for the residentArrange transportation for resident's appointments as neededAssure laboratory tests are obtained when ordered by the attending physician and notifies physician of abnormal resultsBrothers of Mercy is WNYs largest 5-star Skilled Nursing Facility and one of the top-performing nursing homes in the entire state.
